Back in 1987 I bought my first NFO, S*Fernhill Lovis. and my daughter, 11 years old at that time, gave her the name Skrållan. Skrållan was an female n 23 and she was wonderful with big well shaped ears and a fantastic profile.
The breeders of Skrållan asked if we wanted to go to visit a catshow in Oslo, and it sounded great. But, why go on a show and not bring a cat....=) We enterd Skrållan and she was judged by Janka Lund.

At the show this really nice woman came up to me and asked if we wanted to come and visit her cats and see where she and her husband lived, and we wanted to know everything about this wonderful breed Norwegian ForestCat, so we off course accepted the invitation.

The woman introduced herself as Else Nylund. At that time I did not know that she was "The mother of the NFO breed".
One thing that has come back to me time after time is how Else "took me in" in such an unselfish way.
She did not once put herself in the spotlight, she only talked about her love and dedication to this fantastic "Cat of the nature" our beloved NFO.
Else wanted to share her knowledge about the NFO and to her any questions was a good and relevant questions.

I also had the opportunity to get to know Gun Berg-Pettersson, a Fife judge that thought me SO much about cats and how to groom and present them at a show.
I am happy that I did go to that show in Oslo with my little 3 month old cat, and I am so thankful I met Else and many other dedicated NFO lovers.

I hope I can carry on the good work of all these fantastic People that made it possible for us to enjoy the fantastic Norwegian Forest Cat.
I will try to never forget the way I was invited in to the magick NFO world, by fantastic people. And I hope I can make others feel welcome, the way the "piooners" welcomed me.

Thank you all fantastic people for your dedication, love and pations!
